A spectacular and memorable “International Twenty-20 Cricket Match” was organized at the cricket ground of DPS Yamuna Nagar on WED, 04 April 2018. The overseas players Mr. Reis Walker, Mr. Aadi Sharma and their coach Mr. David Walker were formally welcomed at school with some graceful cultural activities. The Deputy Director of Sports, Haryana – Mr. Parminder Singh was the Chief Guest of the day and Guests of Honour were Head of the Sports Department, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar – Dr. Amrita Pritam, A. E. O. – Mr. Jagmal, D. O. C. – The Bharat Scouts & Guide, Yamuna Nagar – Mr. Sandeep Gupta, Scout Master – Mr. Rajnish Gupta and Ex. Senior District Cricket Coach – Mr. Balbir Bhatia, Members of Parent Teacher Co-ordination Committee and School Co-ordination Committee of DPS Yamuna Nagar. The Vice Chairman of DPS Yamuna Nagar, Mr. Ram Niwas Garg and Mr. Rohit Kumar also graced the occasion with their benign presence.
This International Twenty-20 Cricket Match was played between the combined team of DPS Superking Cricket Academy, Yamuna Nagar & players of Middlesex County Cricket Club, England and Khatu Shyam Cricket Academy, Delhi. The toss was won by Khatu Shyam Cricket Academy, Delhi and chose to bat first and scored 135 runs in 20 overs. Kunal, Abhishek and Karan from Khatu Shyam Cricket Academy, Delhi contributed with 40, 20 and 26 runs each respectively. Harshpreet took 3 wickets in his 4 overs and Kunal and Aadi also got 3 wickets each. While playing their inning DPS Superking Cricket Academy, Yamuna Nagar successfully chased the target with 6 wickets in hand. Reis Walker from England made 48 runs and faced 35 balls. Bhuwan (40 runs), Yuvraj Rana (25 runs) and Aadi Sharma (20 runs) also showed their tremendous batting skills.
On this occasion, the Director – Mr. P. S. Rana and the Principal, Mr. Sumit Jindal congratulated the winning team.
